Verse Rico a.k.a TaifaBoy Verse or TaifaBa Kofi was born in Taifa-Accra-Ghana on the 13th of July. His government name is Kofi Afriyie and has been in the underground GH RAP scene for sometime now.
Verse Rico grew up on music from Bob Marley, The Late 2pac Shakur and The Late Christopher Wallace aka Biggie Smalls and Snoop Dogg and the likes. He went to Black Child Junior High School in his younger years and moved on to St Johns Grammar Senior High School where he began battling students twice his age. It was shocking as he was a business student but his love for music grew due to the above stated influences.
He was known for winning freestyle battles with opponents from other schools. He went on to snatch the *crown* from battle rappers from schools in other regions and his very own.
TaifaBoy Verse was approached by one of his mentors Screen Trigga to join his new rap group 'Dock 16' with other rap mates(Renegade and Pranxx) but the group parted ways after S.Trigga went to college in another region.He continued to freestlye battle till after 2 years then he went on to form a group called GuttaVille with his childhood friend Inkredible AZ and were later joined by Blakk who is now known as Skillz and El Jay.
Verse Rico has opened for many acts who come to Ghana to promote thier albums. He is currently working on an album and a new mixtape as he will be releasing his Back Up Plan Vol.1 very soon.
