Jay-Z expands his Roc Nation roster by signing a UK talent.
Jay-Z has signed UK singer/rapper Cher Lloyd to his Roc Nation roster, expanding upon a group that includes J. Cole, Willow Smith and Jay Electronica.
The 17-year-old was a finalist on the show
X-Factor. Reports indicate that other bidders included will.I.am and Simon Cowell.
'Even though Cher didn't do terrifically well in the X Factor finals, there's been a hell of a lot of interest in her. Will.i.am's backing only intensified the battle to get her signature,"
"After weighing up the pros and cons, it was thought that the team at Roc Nation would be best placed to turn her dreams of stardom into a reality."
The report has yet to be confirmed by either Cher or Roc Nation. "Bite my tongue, I shall not say a word," she posted on her Twitter page regarding the matter.
